Made entirely from Dutch-grown cherry, oak and beech, this cutting board is rooted close to home. Every board starts as individual strips of solid hardwood, glued and arranged by hand so the grain of each species plays off the others, then flattened until the surface is perfectly smooth.
The edges are gently rounded over so the board feels good in the hand, and the whole surface is sanded through progressively finer grits before several coats of food-safe oil are rubbed in by hand. A groove cut into the underside gives you a secure place to lift it, and rubber feet keep it steady while you work, lifting it just off the counter so air flows underneath and it dries flat.
It's a board built to be used every day and to last for years.
