The last light of a summer evening, captured in wood. Sunset brings together five species, walnut, oak, maple, padauk and ash, in warm stripes that run from deep brown through honey and gold to a glowing padauk red.
Every strip is hand-selected for colour and grain, then cut, arranged and edge-glued so the stripes line up cleanly across the full width of the board. It is planed and sanded smooth through progressively finer grits, with softly eased edges that feel good in the hand. This is a solid, one-of-a-kind piece made in my small workshop in the Netherlands, so the board in the photos is the exact board you'll receive.
At 40.8 cm long it has room for chopping vegetables, carving bread, or laying out a full spread of cheese, charcuterie and fruit for guests. Use one side for prep and the other for serving.
