Every so often you come across wood too good to let go. The Find is exactly that, solid teak given a second life as a charcuterie board. Rescued, resanded and re-oiled by hand, it keeps its natural knots and markings, the little character lines that tell you this is genuinely one of a kind.
Teak is prized for a reason, warm golden-brown tones, a naturally water-resistant grain and a density that has made it a favourite for generations. Rather than let good wood go to waste, I have brought it back by hand in my small workshop in the Netherlands, sanding it smooth through progressively finer grits and finishing it food safe, ready for many more years of use.
At 30.5 by 25 centimeters it is a comfortable size for serving cheese, charcuterie, bread and nibbles, with knots and grain that make it a real talking point at the table.

Care
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry upright. Never put it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking. Re-oil now and then with food-safe mineral oil or board butter to keep it looking its best.
