Bold, striking and full of contrast, The Phoenix is the centrepiece of its collection. It brings together walnut, beech, ash and alder in dramatic striping, deep walnut browns set against pale beech and ash, so the grain really catches the eye when it lands on the table. Every strip is hand-selected for colour and grain, then cut, arranged and glued so the stripes line up cleanly across the full width of the board. It is planed and sanded smooth through progressively finer grits, with softly eased edges that feel good in the hand. This is a solid, one-of-a-kind piece made in my small workshop in the Netherlands, so the board in the photos is the exact board you'll receive. At 45.1 centimeters long it gives you generous room to lay out a full spread of cheese, charcuterie, bread and fruit for guests, a real showpiece for entertaining.
